so this is the part where i tell you about myself.
i go to school at a tiny college in brevard north carolina, it's called brevard college! (actually i'll be taking a hiadus for the semester, at least from brevard. i'll be going to usc, in columbia, which is where i live.) it's in a great little town in the appalachains, and most everything closes at 5:00 if they like to get "late" afternoon business (and that's the weekdays; weekends, hardly anything is open longer than 4 hours). there is one little coffee house that stays open longer(and it's non-smoking, which i love). it's called the essence of thyme and is owned by a great guy named michael. every wed night a group of people from the community, mainly the college, come up to the cozy little place and play folk/bluegrassy music. you can sit in the cushy chairs or couches or at the tabels and enjoy the mountain music (and some other stuff too, like simon and garfunkle tunes, american pie, cats cradle, great stuff like that).
i'm a sophmore right now (though next semester i would be junior, and i'm rather bitter about that.... stupid heirarchy!) i was a voice major, but had to quite that for rather interesting reasons; if you want to know why, if you're that curious, email me, i'll fill ya in. now i'm an english and religious studies major, minoring in theatre. i hope to work voice back in somehow even if it's just with private voice lessons. i am still in choir though, which i love; the director is awesome. so it's a rather substantial switch...
